My training
Having started out as a personal trainer, I recognised over time that many of the barriers the people I worked with faced when it came to getting fitter and healthier were psychological. This led me to pursue a psychology degree at the University of Warwick, followed by an MSc in sport and exercise psychology at Brunel University and completion of the British Psychological Society’s Stage 2 qualification as a sport and exercise psychologist. I also work as a visiting lecturer in psychology at the University of Buckingham, alongside my private consultancy.
My background
My passion for sport and exercise psychology emerged from my own sporting and fitness journey. I have been both a complete fitness beginner and competitive 10,000m runner, experiencing the highs and lows of each. Now I spend my time enjoying a mixture of everything: weightlifting, running, sprinting, and more technical activities such as Muay Thai and parkour.
What I Do
I have worked with athletes in many sports including golf, fencing, motorsports, gymnastics, weightlifting, triathlon, swimming, rowing, tennis, martial arts, athletics, lacrosse, equine eventing, badminton, petanque, rugby, netball, football and table tennis. I support athletes at every level from touring professional golfers and athletes representing Great Britain, to keen amateurs looking to maximise their potential and enjoyment. I also work with people performing in other areas and individuals looking to create healthy lifestyle patterns, cultivate life-long exercise motivation, and improve their psychological wellbeing.
